Citroen 2CV

AZLP 1959

  • In providing the greatest number of French citizens access to automobiles, the 2 CV remains without doubt individual the most moving proof of Citroën’s avant-gardism.
  • First conceived in the middle of the thirties but not commercialized until just after the end of the Second World War, this automobile was at once simple, solid and inexpensive: a hardy model that would never be copied.
  • Internally dubbed as “four wheels under an umbrella”, it would be popularized by the press at the 1947 Motor Show and successive generations of drivers.
